Tucked away a little out of the centre of the city, the IAF shop is a small indie gallery/art space that focusses on contemporary art.
It has regular exhibitions in its small gallery (a single 10 foot by 10 foot room)
In the evenings it serves beer and snacks at very moderate prices in its low tech (old chairs) sitting area. Few of the regulars speak English but they are hospitable and willing to make foreigners welcome. Note that it is not open every day.
 From Yakuin Station (Nishitetsu Line): With your back to Mosburger, walk up Jonan-sen (i.e. to your left side) to Fukuoka Bank. Turn left onto Takamiya Dori at the junction. The IAF Shop is about 300 metres along on the left, above the yakiniku shop, opposite the IDEMITSU garage. Look out for a sign on the wall ans a doorway/staircase to the 2nd floor.
